Goodline Case Study

Goodline was established in 1999 and has been growing exponentially ever since. In mid-2012, Goodline approached ASTRA to develop a comprehensive program that would provide statutory training as well as develop and improve the leadership skills of the Supervisory team, particularly in Safety Leadership.

To target their specific areas of concern, ASTRA designed and developed the Goodline Organisational Leadership Development (GOLD) program, a course that comprises five nationally recognised units of competency and includes numerous soft-skills. The various topics include:

  • Safety Leadership

  • Communications, conflict resolution & team development

  • Risk management and the leader/manager

  • Basic incident investigations, problem solving & RTW management

  • Leader types, styles

  • Roles and responsibilities (as per the organisations requirements)

  • Team leading

  • Change management

  • Time management

  • Conflict resolution, Dealing with discipline issues

  • Counselling, Coaching & Mentoring

After delivery to over 150 managers, supervisors and leading hands across Australia, the program is now regarded as having enhanced the overall leadership qualities of individual supervisors and is seen as a key element in the reduction of Safety Leadership failures.
